SAIF: North Lanarkshire Council Good Practice Example

North Lanarkshire Council

Making Life Easier is an online service in North Lanarkshire offering a range of information, advice and direct support for anyone living in the area.  It is aimed at people who are finding everyday activities difficult whether because of a disability, a long term condition, a health problem or just beginning to find things difficult as they get older.

Making Life Easier is web based which means it is available 24/7 from anywhere in the world.  It offers information and advice including hints and tips from professionals like speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, dieticians and physiotherapists on how to manage a wide range of day to day activities.  You can access information on health conditions, health based articles and health based news from NHS Choices.

If you live in North Lanarkshire you can carry out a supported self assessment and be matched with information and advice specifically for your problem as well as simple equipment and adaptations which you can order direct from the councils Integrated Equipment and Adaptation Service.  Someone can also do this on your behalf - they can do this from anywhere in the world as long as they are helping someone who lives in North Lanarkshire.

It's free, confidential, and if you need help there are two Disability Information Officers you can contact for assistance.

If you would like to find out more about this service contact in the first instance and we can pass your contact details on.
