SAIF's work for the next year includes:
- SAIF Training Programme 2009. You can download our programme from the home page
- Facilitate workshops at Care Commission Forum event, 28th May - Dignity in Care - Equality and rights in social care?
- Brand new website - launch April 2009
- One of SAIF's objectives this year is to raise awareness across the NHS in Scotland about accessible information. You can download a copy of our information brochure from our training page.
- There are also plans to deliver some basic 'raising awareness' courses for one or two of the NHS Boards in Scotland. More information about 'raising awareness workshops' is available on our training page.
- Membership of Scottish Helpline for Older People - ongoing 2009
- Impact assessment with NHS QIS - ongoing 2009
- Ongoing work with HM Revenue and Customs 2009
- Publication of paper on the social model of disability and its implications for language use - 2009.
- Promoting SAIF Standards for Disability Information and Advice Provision in Scotland within quality assurance systems.
- SAIF has published a series of posters promoting accessible information - Making Information Accessible, Making Word Documents Accessible, Converting Word documents to PDF, Making Websites Accessible, Making Email Accessible and Makign PowerPoint accessible for the Web). - Work in partnership with the Communication Forum Scotland
- Poster display at Patient Information Conference in Glasgow in April
- Look at producing easy-read guidance for public authorities
