Accessing the Private Sector
For 13 days during March, April and May this year we are very pleased to have Lynn Durkin working with SAIF. Lynn’s full-time job is with Marks and Spencer, but she is seconded to us through the Development Assignment Programme run by Scottish Business in the Community.
The programme provides an employee with the opportunity to volunteer for tailored development through a structured project in the community, and is free to community organisations.
In our case, Lynn’s objectives are to:
- put together promotional materials to target large retail companies and banks in the private sector
- produce a target mailing list
- suggest promotional mechanisms and strategies.
We have no doubt that Lynn’s work and skills will be beneficial for SAIF, and we will do everything we can to ensure that the secondment also proves to be a valuable experience for her.
