A Brief Guide to Making Your Information Accessible

What to consider when thinking about accessible information

We have just produced our new Brief Guide to Making Your Information Accessible and will be mailing it out to all those on our mailing list in the next week or two.

This Brief Guide is available online in HTML, to download in Word or PDF, in hard print, braille and audio formats. 

It will be most effective if used electronically and online as all the publications and factsheets mentioned are set up as active hyperlinks. The Guide contains good practice tips and hints on how to make your information as accessible as it can be.  It covers advice on hard print, electronic formats, source documents, styling, PDFs, email, social media, websites and other formats.

Consumer Focus Scotland no longer hosts the Forum as of 16 November 2012 as UK Government changes to Consumer Focus means hosting is no longer compatible with its role.  Since an alternative host acceptable to Scottish Government has not to date been found, the project has had to be closed down.

Scottish Government (the Adult Care and Support Division) are considering how the SAIF agenda can be taken forward in the future.   

2012 - We launched our own elearning platform in the summer.  This is currently on hold.

We have developed a new good practice section on this website.

We produced  a new Brief Guide to PDFs and Accessibility.
